The CL is open all year and is on about 0.75 acre sheltered by trees and hedges while still allowing views across the Yorkshire Wolds. The site is lawned and level and we are on a hill top with chalk beneath shallow soils giving the site excellent drainage and flooding is never an issue.
There is drinking water at 3 points around the site, as well as an additional dedicated water supply at the waste point. Electric hook-ups (seven to allow flexible pitching) give 16 AMPS and is included in the £22 per night pitch fee. Also included is shower and toilet for the exclusive use of the site, one car, two people and an awning if used. Additional people are charged at £1/night and additional cars at £10.
Dogs are welcome and there is a dog walk through the woods and/or along the farm drive. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Please note: East Leys Campsite is exclusive to members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club only.
There is a five van limit; this includes caravans, motor homes and trailer tents.
The activities taking place on the farm vary throughout the year. You may be here in the spring for lambing, summer for hay-making and harvest or autumn for cultivations, the potato harvest and drilling seed.
The CL is situated on 3/4 acre in the centre of about 340 acres of arable land and 16 acres of grass paddocks and woodland. The farm has a further 225 acres of arable land adjacent to the RSPB Reserve at Bempton. Almost 30 acres of the arable land has been taken out of production and has been put into various alternative uses to benefit wildlife.
Although East Leys is primarily an arable farm (wheat, barley, potatoes, oilseed rape) we do keep a few sheep, goats and chickens – free range eggs are on sale when available. We have two ponies, Buzz and Dinky and we can’t forget Stanley the dog.
Within 5 miles you can find sandy beaches, watersports, game & coarse fishing, RSPB Reserve, Sewerby Hall, Bridlington Priory & Bayle Museum, indoor swimming pool and leisure centre, golf courses, Bondville Model Village and Bridlington Birds of Prey and Animal Park.
A skydiving club also operates from East Leys Farm at weekends and on Fridays in summer. As well as the opportunity to skydive (please the skydive centre directly) it also has a café and bar, although opening hours are dependant on the number of skydivers present (usually dependant on the weather).
